MDC Day 6: Santa Barbara to Dana Point

We got an excellently late start, allowing just a smidge of sleep in on our very tired bodies. The day started a bit blustery, but warm blustery. Wind pretty much on the nose until our first SAG. But before SAG we had to stop and visit Don's mom. She's 95, and looks forward to see all of us pass by each year. It's a special moment for all of us. She's awesome!

Then off to Palos Verdes where those with fresh legs tried to drop those with tired 1,000 mile legs. The 1,000 mile legs held up, and we were not to be dropped so easily.

My favorite part of the whole TdCA is Anaheim street LOL... not. This year we took the lane, rode two by two, and it seemed far less sketchy then in years past. The big trucks respected our lane rights, so not a single horn... but then again, we were drilling it about 24-27 through there so we were more than exceeeding the flow of traffic.

We then stopped for coffee... and lunch... and fries and shakes... and more coffee, then arrived in Dana Point. These short days (miles) are kinda nice, but saddle time was about the same as century. Two more days for the TdCA eight!
