Cashing-in in San Francisco

408 miles, 27:50:00 total time and 27,092 feet - 2016 TdCA Gold Rush stats

Our ride from Sacramento to San Francisco was bitter sweet. We enjoyed the last few hours together, and the awesome breakfast by Theo that featured river side pancakes, coaches oats and fresh fruit. We left the confines of the city to the straightness of the longest, straightest bike path imaginable that parallels the freeway to Davis. When in doubt, just go straight, and if straight is an option, take it!

In Davis, our prospectors visited the Bicycle Hall of Fame and got a very complete tour of it's collection of bikes. It was very nice of them to open for us, and the collection is must see if you are in the area.

We then added just a little more climbing, coming up next to Lake Berryessa, and then into Napa. We arrived just in time to be caught up in the traffic scrum around the Safeway PGA event. We were also very close on time to making the 4pm ferry out of Vallejo. With some determination, and focus, we rolled our mining carts down to the ferry to bring our new found gold to San Francisco. With only minutes to spare.

We now await our friends and training partners as we join the Challenged Athlete Foundation's Million Dollar Challenge on Saturday. In the mean time, we get a much earned day off.
